For the majority of my house portraits, I do the bulk of the painting on-site, standing in front of the building with my portable easel and palette. This allows for true color interpretation and forces a certain freshness into the painting. Depending on the size of the canvas and the cooperation of the weather, this process usually takes a week or less. Following this on-site work, I often have a bit of fine-tuning to do in the studio.

Interiors and Still Life
Interior mural in Midway Heights Elementary School just outside of Columbia, Missouri. Many, many hours of crucial assistance from my brother and sister-in-law. Completed in 2014.
Exterior mural on side of church in El Higueral, El Salvador. Based on iconic image of Monseñor Romero, the former Archbishop of El Salvador who was assassinated in 1980. Completed in 2012.
Located in the small village of Sephangwe, Limpopo Province, South Africa, this was an extracurricular project for 31 seventh grade students at Kgotsoro Primary School. While I created the design, the painting of the mural was a group effort, under my direction. Completed in 2008.
